This independent bookstore wanted a clean, easy-to-use design for their online store that represented the bookstore's classic style while also integrating with their social media presences. This design uses a classic font, crisp white background, and images of the physical store to create a smooth online browsing experience that's as close as possible to the friendly, personal, and knowledgable service you'll get in the bricks-and-mortar store.

Stemming is an online community for technical and scientific women that needs to draw these users in by being friendly without being condescending. The imagery of the growing plant (from a logo designed by a friend) is incorporated throughout the site to represent the growing community of technical women. The design uses mainly green and blue, colors which have associations with science and technology, and uses the front page space to present users with several options for conversation and exploration.
