Fly Over the City is a small bike messenger service based in downtown Boston. They needed a robust dispatching back-end to process and keep track of hundreds of jobs every week.

Ruby on Rails Programming

I coded Fly Over The City's Ruby on Rails and MySQL, database-driven backend, and worked with Tensegrity Development to implement another designer's work in CSS and HTML. Some features include:

• A dispatching system where dispatchers can enter new jobs (including the package's origin and destination) and assign messengers to these jobs
• Recurring jobs automatically added to the system
• Reports for the business owners to see the history of jobs by client or by rider
• Automatic invoicing of clients based on the system's record of previously entered jobs
• A simple content management system enabling the business owners to edit the text of their public-facing pages
